TYLER HUDSON WINS THE 4TH ANNUAL LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIPS - MORE MONDAY AFTERNOON

Chad Detillier locked himself into the Late Model 250 through Open Qualifying on Saturday. The race is this evening at 7:15pm Eastern on WebRacingNetwork.com. QUALIFYING LEADERBOARD HERE!

There's a new sheriff in town! Kenneth OKeefe went to the top of the Open Qualifying Leaderboard Friday night with a time of 17.923 seconds! Richie Davidowitz, Brandon Salvatore, Tanner Stoops and Mike Alexander are the top five of 45 to take time in the first five sessions of Open Qualifying. The first round of qualifying wraps up on Saturday with four sessions.

Richie Davidowitz set the bar as the top qualifier on Thursday for the Late Model Championships with a lap of 18.042 seconds. Eleven drivers put in a time on Thursday.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE REGISTERED, KEEP IN MIND YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO REGISTER AND QUALIFY IN ONE OF THE NINE SESSIONS FROM THURSDAY TO SATURDAY. We reserve the right to disallow times of drivers who run multiple sessions.

The crown jewel of short track sim racing returns to iRacing on Sunday, February 12th and a star studded field of drivers are set to duke it out for their spot in the 30 car starting field. The Fourth Annual Late Model Championships Presented by GSRacing.net at New Smyrna Speedway has already drawn over 110 entries and when all is said and done one will stand tall as the winner and will take away the lion’s share of the purse which hovers around the $400 mark. As of February 1st, we sit at 112 entries for the Late Model Championships Presented by GSRacing.net. Entry deadline has been moved to 8pm Eastern on Thursday, February 9th (or the start of the open qualifying round). Be sure to have your entry in by then to be eligible for the LMC!

4TH ANNUAL LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIPS ANNOUNCED

GSRacing.net to Present 4th Annual Late Model 250

(January 2nd, 2012) - The Late Model Championships are pleased to announce the 4th Annual Late Model Championships on Sunday, February 12th, 2012. For the second consecutive year, the Late Model Championships will utilize the iRacing Motorsports Simulation platform with their Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Late Model Car at New Smyrna Speedway. The event is sponsored by GSRacing.net, the biggest independently owned league on the iRacing service.

Keeping with the short track feel, drivers will have multiple chances at qualifying for the main feature, a 250-lap event which will be streamed live, flag-to-flag on WebRacingNetwork.com. Open qualifying for the event begins Thursday night, February 9th and runs until Saturday, February 10th. The timed laps on those three nights will lock the first five drivers into the Late Model 250 presented by GSRacing.net. Three heat races on Sunday will lock another 15 drivers into the event with "C" and "B" Features being run following heats for those who are still yet to qualify. Eight drivers will race their way into the Late Model 250 Presented by GSRacing.net

Like last season, the Late Model Championships will carry a race purse. Last season, Midland, North Carolina's Parker Hammons went to victory lane at Oxford and won over $200. Race sponsor GSRacing.net has started the purse off at $100 while JoeTheShow20.com will be the first of what is expected to be many Lap Leaderboard sponsors in the race. Laps are available in the Late Model 250 Presented By GSRacing.net for $2.50 each with 80% of the proceeds raised going back to the purse and into the pockets of the racers. Derek Speare Designs (DerekSpeareDesigns.com) has also partnered with the Late Model Championships to give a Sport Button Box away to a random qualifier on Sunday, February 12th.

In the 2011 edition of the event, over one hundred drivers registered for the event with 70 partaking in qualifying for the race. Sign-ups for the 4th Annual Late Model Championships are now open by going to LateModelChampionships.com.
